Jamalabad (Persian: جمال اباد)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Hesami Rural District of the Central District of Sarchehan County, Fars province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 494 in 123 households, when it was in Sarchehan Rural District of the former Sarchehan District of Bavanat County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 641 people in 168 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 724 people in 221 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]

After the census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Sarchehan County and divided into the Central District containing Tujerdi Rural District, Sarchehan Rural District, and the cities of Hesami and the new capital, Korehi; and Bagh Safa District containing Bagh Safa Rural District and the new Arzhang Rural District.[7] The county was further divided later when Tujerdi Rural District was separated from the Central District to establish Tujerdi District, which was divided into two rural districts including the new Marvashkan Rural District. At the same time, Hesami Rural District was established in the Central District and the capital of the county was moved from Korehi to Hesami.[4]
