UK map

There's a debate and straw poll about the use of maps on the United Kingdom article. See Talk:United_Kingdom#Straw_Poll_-_Infobox_Map_.26_the_EU. Thanks, --Jza84 |  Talk  18:09, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Economic history of Europe

For some time (years?) I have been meaning to get around to writing an article on Economic history of Europe, a precedent having already been set by it's African counterpart. Given that the Economic history/development section on the Economy of Europe page is already reasonably large, and that Europe is the world's richest continent, began the industrial revolution, and was historically the world's economic superpower before the rise of the US, I believe such an article would be invaluable.

The previously mentioned section from the Economy of Europe article would be a starting point, but is actually rather basic. This could/should be a huge article, and any economists/historians/misc others who want to contribute, I'd love to hear from you! Grunners (talk) 17:02, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Coordinators' working group

Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.

All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 05:22, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

Notice of bot request to convert WikiProject Slovenia banners

I have requested permission to run an automated script that will add {{WikiProject Slovenia}} banners to all pages in Category:Slovenia task force articles. This process will remove the WikiProject Europe banner from many of these pages. See the discussion at Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/DustyBot 3. Thanks. Wronkiew (talk) 18:01, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

For those interested, please see the talk page. Someone is trying to delete portions of the article.--Rubikonchik (talk) 22:00, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

The Austria article

Since Austria is a core article for this project, and Wikipedia itself, I believe that members here would agree that it is also highly important. If anyone is interested in substantially improving the article to good or featured article status, please join this discussion at Talk:Austria#Article improvement drive. Thanks for your help, Hayden120 (talk) 04:30, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

FAR notice for Eurovision Song Contest

I have nominated Eurovision Song Contest for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here.Cirt (talk) 09:43, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Ervin Toro is NOT the Mayor of Patos, Albania

Ervin Toro is a fool and a player with WikiProject Europe. Please independently verify any information that contains his name, as it is always a hoax. Flintstoned (talk) 22:32, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

GA Reassessment of Monarchies in Europe

I have done a GA Reassessment of the Monarchies in Europe article as part of the GA Sweeps project. I have found the article to be very solid except for the need for some more references and the repair of reference links that have expired. My review can be found here. I have put the article on hold for a week and I am notifying all interested projects and editors. Please contact me on my talk page with any questions. H1nkles (talk) 18:10, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

England at GAC!

Alerting all WikiProject Europe/Archive 3 members that England is undergoing a review for WP:GA status. Things you can help with are listed here. Please help if you can... England expects that every man will do his duty.... :) --Jza84 |  Talk  16:22, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Popular pages

I have requested a list of popular pages for this project on [1]. --Ysangkok (talk) 10:49, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Duplication

The article Area and population of European countries seems to be largely a duplication of material on Demographics of Europe. It seems that the information here is even less in-depth than that on the main article. The only difference really is the list of languages by population of native speakers (which is uncited). This article doesn't seem to be doing much different from the main. What should be done? A merge and redirect? Sillyfolkboy (talk) (edits)Join WikiProject Athletics! 15:30, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Pageview stats

After a recent request, I added WikiProject Europe to the list of projects to compile monthly pageview stats for. The data is the same used by http://stats.grok.se/en/ but the program is different, and includes the aggregate views from all redirects to each page. The stats are at Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/Popular pages.

The page will be updated monthly with new data. The edits aren't marked as bot edits, so they will show up in watchlists. You can view more results, request a new project be added to the list, or request a configuration change for this project using the toolserver tool. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know. Thanks! Mr.Z-man 04:14, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Peer review at Republic of Macedonia

Requesting some feedback on this article, which would be deeply appreciated. See the peer review here for my comments of what kind of feedback I'm after. Best wishes, Fritzpoll (talk) 13:51, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
