The course covers the lawmaking process at the federal level. Each student will be responsible for researching the influences behind the passage of a major federal law from the period 1947-2012, using contemporaneous newspaper reporting, committee hearings, committee reports, floor debates and presidential statements. Students will create or update the Wikipedia page of the law the have chosen with information on the background, legislative history, and provisions for the law.
