Persistent reinsertion by single editor of material subject to an ongoing, unresolved WP:BRD dispute, whose additions/reverts raise WP:POV and WP:OR / WP:SYNTH concerns (demonstrated unequivocally on talk page, with multiple reliable sources). Editor is refusing to participate meaningfully in the "D" of BRD, and just ignores repeated requests for evidence to support their claims of article inaccuracies. Editor complains on talk page of being swamped in multiple "shitstorms" (their term, not mine) across WP, so this will be an opportunity to take a breather and reflect upon involvement in fecal tempests. Also editwarring against WP:CITEVAR. I have made many adjustments to the text to try to appease said editor's concerns (usually announced with WP:DRIVEBY tagging of material that is already well-sourced). Informal dispute resolution has repeatedly failed, and my request for formal WP:DR was explicitly rejected. Nothing helps, so far.

This has been going on every day for a week or so, more slowly now, after I issued a WP:3RR warning. The underlying disputes go back over two months.

I was finally, very reluctantly going to take this to WP:ANEW or WP:ANI (I thus have a pile of diffs if they're needed), but since neither of us are admins, perhaps page protection can handle this with far less drama. I'm perfectly happy using {{Editprotected}} requests to add new sources, etc., and it will require consensus discussions to make any controversial changes henceforth, ergo a big reduction in strife and an increase in article stability. This is sitting carefully below WP:3RR but locking the "user talk:" page to prevent restoration of the {{archive}} template also prevents justifiable warnings being left for this user. WP:REPENTANT does not apply as the abuse is ongoing. "The past", as this user calls it, is a current and ongoing pattern of abuse; there was already one block for the username issue, but do we really need this user under two accounts with a talk page locked against anyone leaving valid warnings? Declined. So far there was only one auto-confirmed account that has now been blocked for vandalism. The current semi-protection level is sufficient and if registered accounts should show up with bad intent, please report them at AIV. The topic is constantly changing, and some form of protection needs to keep unverified and IP users from making changes and adding incorrect data. As a page which has been viewed over 650,000 times in the past 30 days alone, I think it needs to have some form of protection to stop vandalism.
