Portal:Japan[edit]

Hello. Myself and a couple of other users have greatly overhauled this portal in the last few months. I think it has come along very nicely and I just wanted a fresh pair of eyes to look at it. I'm open for ANY comments, suggestions or recommendations. Anything at all that you would like to say about the portal is great. I'm hoping to get it to Featured status sometime in the near future. Thanks! --TorsodogTalk 06:12, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What happened to images 4 - 15? Bewareofdog 20:19, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They simply haven't been added yet. As of right now, the portal automatically rotates images based on the week number, and since I started overhauling the article in April those numbers had already passed. So, basically, I just haven't gotten to them yet. --TorsodogTalk 20:43, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Try to make the Selected articles the same length. For example , Portal:Japan/Selected article/1 is longer than Portal:Japan/Selected article/26. Bewareofdog 03:13, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Portal:Yorkshire[edit]

I've done a lot of work on this portal and would really appreciate some feedback about what improvements need to be made before its ready to be nominated for feature portal status. Thanks, Kaly99 (talk) 21:31, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Portal:Russia[edit]

Been doing a lot of work on this portal lately after a break from portal-stuff. 5 rotating images in the Intro, 23 Selected articles, all WP:FAs, 11 Selected biographies, all WP:FAs, 18 Selected pictures, all WP:FPs, 20 sets of 3 DYK hooks, all with free-use images, 20 Selected quotes, all with free-use images, Updated news with Wikinews Importer Bot (talk · contribs), and a Rotating In this month section. The redlink in Things you can do will soon hopefully be blue thanks to a new feature from WolterBot (talk · contribs).

Looking for any feedback/comments prior to WP:FPORTC. Thanks, Cirt (talk) 09:09, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comments. RichardF (talk) 12:53, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Red/blue headers unappealing.
  2. First text line on some boxes, e.g., intro, not top-aligned.
  3. {{russia topics}} style mismatches portal.
  4. Inconsistent spacing at bottom of boxes.
  1. Header colors: Agree that Red/blue headers is unappealing, have asked RichardF (talk · contribs) to look into this as he is an expert with color palettes on portals. Cirt (talk) 15:49, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Update: - I think I have found a nice color arrangement now after some experimenting. Cirt (talk) 16:30, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Intro alignment: Fixed this, was a minor spacing issue in the intro. Cirt (talk) 15:49, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Topics: What do you suggest be done here? I really like that there is already an existing template, Template:Russia topics. I suppose it could either be substed and then modified, or we could just modify the coloring/layout of the template itself to match the portal - thoughts? Cirt (talk) 15:51, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Update: Reformatted {{Russia topics}} - Now it matches the portal nicely. Cirt (talk) 16:39, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Inconsistent bottom spacing: I have inspected Portal:Russia/box-header and Portal:Russia/box-footer in comparison to other portals and for the life of me can not yet figure this out. I will try to look into this further but I could use some help here as well. Cirt (talk) 15:55, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    Update: I believe I have fixed this. Cirt (talk) 16:19, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Portal:Schools[edit]

I recently updated parts of the Schools portal and I'm hoping to get some input. Many thanks, Jh12 (talk) 13:48, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hossen27 Comments

A very impressive portal. No major issues that I can find. Minor pnes below.

  • The lead paragraph needs an expansion. Maybe twice as long as it currently is.
  • Has been slightly expanded.
  • Bring your selected picture and DYK random components up to at least 10.
  •  Done

I would say that this portal is upto or atleast very close to featured status.

well done Hossen27 (talk) 11:47, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
