Wikipedia:Good article delisting

This page instructs how to delist articles from Wikipedia:Good articles.
If you find an article listed as good that does not actually satisfy the good article criteria, then you can delist it:
- Make sure that you are not personally involved with the article. If you are, seek another editor to follow the following steps.
- Check that you have logged in, anons may not delist articles.
- Check the good article criteria to see which criteria it fails to meet.
- If the problem is easy to resolve, it might be better to be bold and fix it yourself.
- If you can't fix it, leave a message in the article's talk page stating the problem(s). If possible, put appropriate maintenance template(s) on the article's page. See Category:Wikipedia maintenance templates.
- It is also recommended to try half-a-dozen edits towards fixing the problem. This may be enough; if it isn't, it will at least demonstrate your intentions, your competence, and your good will to regular editors of the page.
- If you see an article on the GA list which clearly fails the criteria, you can delist it and remove it from the list at WP:GA immediately. To do this remove the {{GA}} tag on the article's talk page and put in its place {{DelistedGA|26 May 2024}}. Do not use {{FailedGA}}. If the talk page has the ArticleHistory template in it, update the article's status using it instead.
- Remember to explain what the problem is and what needs to be improved to meet the criteria.
- Remove the article from the list at Wikipedia:Good articles and decrement the good article count.
If you are not satisfied with an article, but are not certain it should be delisted, you may renominate it after delisting, or you may take the article to Wikipedia:Good article review for wider consideration.
If you feel that an article has been delisted without following this procedure (for example, if you have a case that the delister is not uninvolved) you may also go to Wikipedia:Good article review. You may also simply renominate the article; but it may be more productive to fix the flaws that the delister found first.
