Imexco Article[edit]

Hello Yesikan. I apologize for not responding to your note sooner. With respect to the article, here is the problem: you do not have any independent and reliable sources of substantial independent consideration and discussion of Imexco, which will be necessary to establish notability of this company. You have only cited two sources - one showing that the product has FDA approval which does not establish that it is notable, just legal and the other is the company's own website which is neither independent of your subject nor deemed to be reliable. You must find articles, newspapers, magazines, scholarly articles, peer reviews, etc., showing that your subject has received significant consideration by reliable third party sources. If not such sources exist then your subject is not suitable for an encyclopedia article. Without such sources the article reads more like an advertisement and since wikipedia is not a web hosting or promotional site, such articles are strictly prohibited.

As one of the more experienced editors and admins here dealing with this type of articles, perhaps I can explain further.

A Wikipedia article needs to show notability with references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. The references must deal with the actual subject of the article, and not just the general background. Not one of the references in the article meets this requirement. Most are either unreliable, or not about the company.

A Wikipedia article needs to be written like an encyclopedia article, not a press release--don't praise the organization or its head, say what they do, as supported by third party sources. Don't talk about the overall importance of the subject--talk about what they have accomplished. Remember not to copy from a web site, even your own -- first it's a copyright violation, but, even if you own the copyright and are willing to give us permission according to WP:DCM, the tone will not be encyclopedic and the material will not be suitable. (Thus, there is generally no purpose in giving permission; it is better to rewrite.)

Include only material that would be of interest to a general reader coming across the mention of the subject and wanting the sort of information that would be found in an encyclopedia. Do not include material that would be of interest only to those associated with the subject, or to prospective clients/purchasers/students--that sort of content is considered promotional.

This particular article seems to be as much about the President of the company as about the company. Both articles are promotional, and neither subject is notable. I've nominated the other for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Giora Ram. DGG ( talk ) 04:21, 6 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Giora Ram for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Giora Ram is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

which version[edit]

It is unclear to me which version of this article you consider the current one. I assume it is Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Imexco General Ltd. (3). I have just deleted version (2), Unless you tell me otherwise, I will assume you intend to have version 1 deleted also.

Assuming you want to work on version (3), the same advice I have given previously holds: the first thing to do is to remove all adjectives of praise. The contributions of the company should speak for themselves. The "mission" and the nasdaq illustrations need to be removed also. The section on pain management is not about the company, and should also be removed. Also remove all external links except the main link to the company.

Even from the rest of the article, large sections are copied from the company web site. But you must not copy from a web site, even your own -- first it's a copyright violation, but, even if you own the copyright and are willing to give us permission according to WP:DCM (permission that irrevocably gives everyone in the world the right to copy, reuse, and modify the material) , the tone will not be encyclopedic and the material will not be suitable. (Thus, there is generally no purpose in giving permission; it is better to rewrite.)

But the key problem is that a Wikipedia article needs to show notability with references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. If you have such sources, it may be possible to rewrite the article; otherwise, it will not be possible to write an acceptable article. Everything you have seems to be a press releasee or a directory listing. DGG ( talk ) 19:01, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Yesikan. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Imexco General Ltd. (3)".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Imexco General Ltd. (3)}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Gunnex (talk) 21:40, 14 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
