An article about the madhu Church in Sri Lanka is pending ? can you be interested ? Thanks Taprobanus 21:39, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

I have no much idea about Churches in Sri Lanka. But if you can let me know of which Church in particular you are talking about I may be able to do that. Cheers ώiki Ѕαи Яоzε †αLҝ 21:43, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
It is the pre emminent Catholic church in Sri Lanka situated within the Sri Lankan Tamil dominated Mannar district. It has an interesting history as well as the dubious function of being one of the biggest refugee camp during troubles in the region and an event called Madhu church bombing or massacre that lead to the death of 37(?) civilian refugees. All hereTaprobanus 00:02, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. So far what I read sounds interesting. I will start working on it soon. The history sections of Dutch persecution and Goan admistration of the island were something I know a bit. The history of this Church seems to bring the puzzels of the jig-saw in place. I will start working on it as soon as I get tangible enough informations on it. Cheers. ώiki Ѕαи Яоzε †αLҝ 06:09, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Portal Catholicism DYK

Thanks for telling me. I have discovered the problem. Instead of writing Portal:Catholicism/DYK Archive/Suggestions I wrote Portal:Catolicism/DYK Archive/Suggestions. Therefore you could only read the suggestions by making one yourself. I removed the mistake and naturally included the suggestions. The other editor's dyk appears on Wednesdays and your dyk on Friday.--Thw1309 12:05, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

It is you, who is really efficient. First I made the mistake to spell catholicism without the "h" and then I did not read the discussion page. It was you, who did not stop to say, that anything went wrong. Thanks again.--Thw1309 12:39, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

There is another important shrine in Kachchativu that not many people dont know about but is used by both Indian and Sri lankan devotees ?Taprobanus 21:00, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi Taprobanus! Sorry for the late reply. Can you give me the name of the Church there please. I get just about 5 hits on google. Cheers Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 08:18, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
It has to do with different spellings in English for the island translated from Tamil, [1][2][3]. Hope this helpsTaprobanus —Preceding comment was added at 18:27, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Hey! I had to spend most of my limited wikipedia time in recent days on reverting vandalism, editing and rephrasing articles already on my watchlist, which would explain my delay. Sorry about that anyways. I have collected some info on the issue with the Church in Kachchativu, but it looks like that it wouldn't be reasonable enough to have an independent article on the Church per se. I reckon that adding info on Kachchativu entry on this Church would be more appropriate, but having said that, my worst fear with SLK related article is that some editors don't seem to have taken guide lines serious. So in actual matter of fact this expansion of Kachchativu entry may lead to dirty wars and would be a good(?) place for trolling. Nevertheless I will start working on it and try my best to make it NPOV as possible and if you can then help to clean it up a bit, that would be helpful too. Cheers and apologies for the delay once again. Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 01:43, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Dont worry about the dirty war, the POV warriors are on watch or warning and if they keep it up, they are gone. Just go ahead and be creative. We cant allow bunch of juvenile delinquents to hold up the wikipedia project. I will help you with copy editing. We will even go for another DYK Taprobanus 15:10, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Cheers mate, I will start working on it and yes a DYK will be a good idea. Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 15:54, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
No probs mate although some people are like a fly attracted to shit cannot breath if they dont vandalize or stalk others in Wikipedia beacuse they have no creativity on their own, no other social networks except to jerk off infront of a computer, and take out their inferiority complex and being treated like Pariah's where they live in wikipedia, we just have to learn to side step like we would if you see the fly and turd on the street, in a way just ignore it like you will ignore dog shit Taprobanus 18:24, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Chennai Police logo.gif

Image:Chennai Police logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Chennai Police logo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Chennai Police logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:23, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello, if that image is yours, please change "Thiamine" to "Thymidine". Thx, --193.175.234.39 (talk) 08:28, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, but why? Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 08:50, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Thiamine is Vitamin B1, the base depicted in the image is called Thymine. (Thymidine is not correct either since its the nucleoside containing Thymine). --NEUROtiker (talk) 18:41, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Bug with Disambiguation?

Hi, Thank you for pointing out the problem. It seems to work okay usually. I have run it again and it has made a change to the same article and it seems to have done the right thing this time. I actually ran it not having noticed your message. This is a standard app that I've downloaded & am running. I will check to see if this has been reported, etc. If you notice other such problems, please continue to let me know, preferably, but not necessarily to my skumarla account. Thanks again. Re: Assessment

You aren't being rude, as long as you are (at least, wording it as if you are) requesting for reassessment - something to keep in mind for the future. ;) But good on you for paying attention.

I'm sorry about the lack of reply - I don't think I checked back after assessing it back then. I've replied there (at the Roman Catholicism in India talk page) now. It is however, still a start-class article.

Regarding your other concern on Dravidian Parties, I still had not completed my assessment for that article, as you may have noted that I did not cross it off the requests list at the WikiProject India Assessment Department. Again, please accept my apologies for not indicating in the edit itself. This article is indeed a B class article.

In case you are wondering, the assessment department have added a few more requirements to achieve certain grades now, in order to maintain a relatively high standard for the articles submitted under the WikiProject India banner. However, the changes are still yet to be finalized in writing, which is why the examples and criteria have not been updated. So although the relevant updates have not been made yet, I can tell you that an article like Real Analysis would not be classified as a start-class article, but would be a mere stub under the system that WikiProject India Assessment Team will be adopting.

Anyway, it is very encouraging to note that editors such as yourself are paying attention to these assessments and comments, and using them constructively. If you have any other queries, concerns or comments, please don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page as you have before. Thanks & regards - Ncmvocalist (talk) 14:04, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Not much, I'm afraid! We don't get to see the IP of the person we block (only Checkusers can do that, and they only do it under special circumstances). Very sorry :( There may be a technical recourse but I don't know of it, perhaps you should ask on AN or VPT. ~ Riana 13:06, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. It is not your fault or any of the admin indeed. Nevertheless I reckon this is a problem that needs to be sorted.
