Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, Romanianlies, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it seems POV. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you.   — Jeff G. ツ 23:49, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely because its username is a blatant violation of our username policy – it is obviously profane; threatens, attacks or impersonates another person; or suggests that your intention is not to contribute to the encyclopedia (see our blocking and username policies for more information). We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames, and trolling or other disruptive behavior is not tolerated. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Request reason:

I was initially inspired to edit when I found a large mass of assertions about Romanian aviation history which are easily disproven, and were in direct conflict with numerous well substantiated scources within Wikipedia (aviation pages on Jatho, Kress, Ader, ET AL). I chose a username for this purpose which characterized these statements as lies, which I do in fact believe they can easily be shown to be. I did not see how this name could be construed as profane, threatening, impersonating another person; or attacking another person, except in the rather limited and sense of attacking the accuracy of whoever is responsible for putting these assertions in various articles that reference Romanian aviation history. As to the suggestion that my intention was not to contribute to the encyclopedia, I would have thought that altering inaccurate claims so they reflect the historical consensus would be considered a contribution. However, I now find that my single, accurate, good-faith edits of Romanians, Timeline of Romanian history, Aircraft engines, and List of aviation pioneers have all been mischaracterized as vandalism by an individual who seems to feel misusing the system is an appropriate way to deal with anyone who dares to alter "his" web pages. I only mention this because I feel it likely that his specious attacks on me as "Abusive and vandalistic" may have played a role in this case, and I have no way of knowing if his allegations will be taken on faith. The first indication I had that anyone had a problem with my username was when I found that I had been requested to either justify or change my username at 11:49 PM, and that by 4:46 AM my account and the IP address it had been used from had been indefinitely hard-blocked for what was now being styled a blatant violation of Wikipedia policies. This was unexpected as I had examined the list of usernames to get a better Idea of what was acceptable. I was suprised to find that actual racial epithets such as User:Jewboy(user since 2006), and User:Jewboyjewjew(who I later learned was in fact blocked but was given the option of unblocking merely by changing names, until it was established that he was also User:the holocaustneverhappened)appeared to be accepted Usernames. Of course, had I looked farther and found User:JIMBOWALESDRINKSTHEBLOODOFARYANCHILDREN ( 2006-2010, and only recently blocked), I might have begun to realize that the Username list is a poor source for determining the acceptability of Usernames.

Decline reason:

Your username is contrary to the policy. If you wish to change your username, you may request the appropriate block using {{unblock-spamun|new name|reason}} (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 09:37, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
