Hello @TLJ7863, wow that was a fast deletion.
While I understand section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, I'm not sure to understand how it applies to my sandbox page. I hope I can get a constructive and encouraging feedback after a careful reading of the content to contribute to produce best possible content.
- I'm not related or affiliated with ISO in any way, but I do use standards they publish on a daily basis. I thought it would be worth write a page about the LDE Award that recognizes the significant contribution and superior performance of an ISO technical committee or subcommittee to the development of ISO International Standards.
- I also wrote it as a sandbox page (I probably should have created a draft page instead, I'm still a rookie contributor). I was about to ask my Wikipedia tutor for revision prior to publish it as final version and make sure it meets Wikipedia's goals and standards.
- There is many "Awards" pages, not sure why ISO's awards can't have one... JMONumalis (talk) 21:25, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
When I read it it didn't appears to be written from a WP:NPOV and didn't cite any sources, that was my main concern. You may contact the deleting administrator if you wish to have the material from the article for future use. Thanks. TLJ7863 (talk) 21:29, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Arnault Ioualalen, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Arnault Ioualalen[edit]

Hello!
The page you created (Arnault Ioulalalen) unfortunately risks being speedy deleted for being promotional. I can help with trying to keep it, do you have any sources that could be added to the page? Ideally sources from outside the company itself would help establish notability. ChaotıċEnby(t · c) 16:40, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Chaotic Enby
Thank you for offering help trying to keep the page. Yes there is plenty of sources. I thought it would be enough as a start. JMONumalis (talk) 16:59, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A Google search unfortunately isn't enough, many of the results are self-published. I invite you to look at Wikipedia:Reliable sources for this. ChaotıċEnby(t · c) 17:00, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The Google search was to show that there is plenty external and reliable sources I'll pick from.

IEEE, ResearchGate and HAL sources are from Ioualalen himself, so they unfortunately don't count. IEC is just a passing mention. BFMTV did interviews with him, again not an external source. Les Echos, Decideurs News, Usine Nouvelle appear to be good. ChaotıċEnby(t · c) 17:19, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the feedback. I'll improve the page and follow Jeraxmoira's instructions on draft review. JMONumalis (talk) 17:23, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Arnault Ioualalen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Hello @Jeraxmoira, could you please hold you decision for speed deletion until I sort things out with @Chaotic Enby?
Best regards JMONumalis (talk) 17:01, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can move it to draft space if you're okay with that. Please let me know. Thanks! Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 17:04, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That would be fantastic. I'll do my best to enrich the bio and add as much as possible reliable sources. JMONumalis (talk) 17:16, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You can access the draft here. Cheers Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 17:18, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Kindly do not add YouTube videos as sources. They can go in the External links if the videos are really important! Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 17:19, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well understood, thanks. JMONumalis (talk) 17:25, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Arnault Ioualalen moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Arnault Ioualalen. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 17:17, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please sign your messages.

You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at JMONumalis. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=JMONumalis|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.

  • You have not attempted to conceal your COI, so I haven't blocked you, and I'll fix your user page. Because of your COI you must not create an article in name space, only as a draft that you must submit for review

Your draft still exists, although it's not without problems, so nothing to restore.

Also read the following regarding writing an article:

  • When you write about a person, you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that they meet the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the person or an associated organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the person claims or interviewing them. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls.
  • One of your sources is a bare url reference which is an interview with him, obviously not an independent third-party source.
  • You claim that he has contributed to the field through various publications but none named. has received several awards and honors, recognizing his contributions to software reliability and innovation but none listed, the references seem to suggest just one award to him and his colleagues (not mentioned in the text!), and two for the company
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • Don't link to the company on a different wiki
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
I didn't check the text but the image ia an obvious copyright violation, see here,

Please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:07, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

More[edit]

We do not have profile pages, we have articles and user pages. The user pages are to tell us about your activities on Wikipedia and, as in this case, to declare paid editing. If you work for the company, you have a financial interest in the article and for our purposes you are a paid editor even if you haven't been specifically paid or instructed to write it. If you remove the formal "paid" template, you are at risk of being blocked as an undeclared paid editor. Some limited bio is permitted on your user page, but don't link to your company, and tone it down a bit, sounds a bit like a job application as it stood Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:20, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
