Oblique shock
An oblique shock is a shock wave that, unlike a normal shock, is inclined with respect to the direction of incoming air. It occurs when a supersonic flow encounters a corner that effectively turns the flow into itself and compresses. This photograph shows an oblique shock at the nose of a Northrop T-38 Talon aircraft, made visible through Schlieren photography.Photograph credit: NASA & US Air Force (J.T. Tip of the day[edit]

Tip of the moment...
Find uncategorized articles

Articles created without a category should be tagged with a maintenance tag. Use the {{Uncategorized}} tag to put articles in a maintenance category. Optionally add a date parameter like {{Uncategorized|date=June 2024}} to put articles in by-date maintenance categories.

Such tagged articles are found at Uncategorized pages. You can try to categorize articles yourself. One useful technique is to follow links in the article to other similar articles and see how they are categorized, so you know what to copy.

To add this auto-randomizing template to your user page, use {{totd-random}}
