Iron Dome (Hebrew: כִּפַּת בַּרְזֶל, kipat barzel) also known as "Iron Cap"^[7] is a mobile all-weather air defense system^[5] developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.^[4]

It is speculated {{citation}}: Empty citation (help) that Iron Dome uses Free-space optical communications to identify and intercept enemy rockets.^[6]
