Differences between the movie and play.[edit]

The article says Lizzie was "middle aged", which I suppose was true enough in the movie. In the play, however, she was only in her late twenties. Today it doesn't seem like a big deal for a woman to be single at that age, but at the time the play is set, an unmarried woman that age was practically an "old maid". The movie was criticized (rightly, in my opinion) because the cast was too old.184.5.159.98 (talk) 20:21, 8 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

To be fair, Tommy Lee Jones and Tuesday Weld both starred in a 1982 made-for-television version; both were around age 40 and both were excellent. Wyliepedia @ 02:18, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

plot is wrong[edit]

In the 1956 version with Lancaster he starts out preventing tornadoes, and the sheriff's resume has a third thing he pretends he can do. 100.15.117.34 (talk) 02:20, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
