Navone and Darderi

I think those two (Mariano Navone and Luciano Darderi) have not met the Davis Cup requirements from the ITF having started the year outside the Top 100. Wait if they will get a special dispensation to allow on competing the Olympics. If Navone does not meet the requirements by ITF, Facundo Díaz Acosta will be the last eligible player from Argentina despite having won gold in 2023 Pan American Games to be part in the Continental Zone. 120.28.64.52 (talk) 12:12, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

Navone and Darderi do not need 'special dispensation'; in both cases they have risen very quickly through the rankings playing for nations who are deep with ranked players. They easily fall under 7.2.2 b or c. Acosta on the other hand would not, he debuted on the ATP in 2020 and has not played in the Davis Cup. Both Navone and Darderi have been featured on the ITFs page previewing the Olympics, and Darderi has been publicly thanking his sponsors for helping him get to the Olympics. I would add that excluding Safiullin is just a wild guess as well since I don't know how you determine the criteria for whether players who haven't been able to play in Davis Cup since 2021 wanted to, or would have. It's not up to us to decide whether a player gets dispensation based on one of the circumstances outlined in rule 7.2. That's up to the discretion of the ITF Olympic committee only. A player who does not satisfy rule 7.1.2 and/or 7.1.5 MUST apply for an exemption, that's a black and white rule. The page falls afoul our sourcing and verifiability policies entirely. First and foremost there should be a clear statement that the tables presented are lists of players that are provisionally eligible to be entered by their NOCs and not ones that have been entered. Secondly all players included for other reasons (e.g. protected rankings) than the basic, verifiable regulations, should be supported by reliable sources. Tvx1 21:28, 10 June 2024 (UTC)

Individual neutral athletes

Is there any reliable source out there that deals in any way with the quota of entrants for the AIN delegation? Previously the article counted their quota based on the individual nation the players are from. It's OR however to assume that a delegation that competes under and same flag and anthem gets anything more than the basic four entrants in singles and two teams in doubles with a cap of six different players. Also, how is the BJK/Davis Cup participation rule applied to these players.Tvx1 23:54, 10 June 2024 (UTC)

The highlighting for players not meeting the Davis Cup representation requirement

Could someone please change this from the current light blue to a more constrasting color, like the others to more clearly indicate those players are not in the draw. Azarenka

Victoria Azarenka is from Belarus and there might be an issue with thinking that she can't qualify for the Olympics because she's been mistakenly labelled as a Russian since both Russian and Belarussian tennis players are listed the same as Individual Neutral Athletes. Currently, she is one of the top athletes representing her country, with only one other Belarusian player ranking higher than her Sabalenka and would not prevent her from qualifying. This situation is down to Belarus supporting Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and the IOC treating the two countries the same. Nobody is being mislabeled, but if it turns out more than four neutral athletes are allowed to qualify, the table will be updated to reflect the reality. Iffy★Chat -- 18:57, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
