Most recorded[edit]
This page says Steve Gadd "is arguably the most recorded drummer in history."
Hal Blaine's page says he "has played on more recordings than any other musician."
I don't know which one to believe. Joe 14:57, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
In my opinion i would say that hal blaine is the most recorded drummer in history, as when he was in his prime they would record six songs a day and knock out a couple of albums a week. Blaine once said that he stopped counting after 30,000 tracks. Hope i could help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.141.19.244 (talk) 18:35, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
bernard pretty purdie also claims to be the worlds most recorded drummer —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.237.5.219 (talk) 04:59, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
"Gear" Segment sounds like a commercial[edit]
can someone clean it up? the !'s and things sound like it was either taken straight from a web advert, or someone from the company wrote it, wikipedia is not the sort of place for that sort of enthusiasm about brand names I shouldn't think 75.15.199.105 05:24, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
I like to think I'm as alert to sneaky commercialism as anyone. But as a former drummer, I'd suggest the additional possibility that this sort of detailed listing of Gadd's various (and, in some cases, competing) brands of equipment is exactly the kind of thing other musicians crave to know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.246.204.6 (talk) 23:11, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Dr. Gadd?[edit]
A preliminary search has found that Steve Gadd holds an honorary doctorate from the Berklee School of Music. In light of this, is it appropriate for him to be called "Dr. Steve Gadd" on this page? His official website is "www.drstevegadd.com" but I'm not sure Dr is appropriate. Thoughts on this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.62.254.122 (talk) 05:51, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Rolling Stone list[edit]
Have removed the following:
Gadd is ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as the thirteenth greatest drummer of all time.Rolling Stone list.
- The shortlist at the Rolling Stone website makes no mention of Gadd and the list cited above is taken from a blog claiming to have posted the official list. Conclusion? Out it goes...--Technopat (talk) 10:30, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
Hagiography[edit]
This article looks like it was written by fanbois. He is good but not *that* good. Come on. Show some balance. A Drummer magazine readers poll in 1995 named him Most Overrated drummer, but of course, you'll never see it in this curated article. It will be deleted in a flash by the fanbois. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.167.82.58 (talk) 14:32, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
Steve Gadd discography[edit]
- Support split - Discography section takes up more than one third of the page, and should be split to a new article entitled Steve Gadd discography. --Jax 0677 (talk) 19:05, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
