Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedy deleted as lacking sufficient context to identify its subject, because the page can be filled out with information from the French page.

I did not actually create this page. What I did was cancel a re-direct from this page to a (differently name) street in Lyons. This redirect was erroneous.

I came to this page from a link on the article about the 9th arrondissement of Paris but was confused to find it was talking about a street in Lyons. Then I saw that I had been redirected to that article about the Lyons street. People had also edited that Lyons street article to contain information about the Parisian street. Seeing this error I decided to cancel the redirect and remove the content from the Lyons street page which was actually about the Parisian street and copy it onto this page. I then updated the language links to include this english article. I stopped there because I had no more time.

I have now added a translation of the first sentence on the French wikipedia article. I think a stubb message should be added to this page rather than it be deleted because it only needs content to be translated from the French page to become a complete article

(If this is confusing, please look at the edit history which should show what I did.) --Oska (talk) 11:17, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I just went in to add some more content from translating the French article. When I went to save someone had already reverted the page to the original re-direct. I do not think this is a good resolution as the original redirect is a bad one. I overwrote their edit after the merge conflict with the page as it was when the speedy delete was put on it, along with my new translation addition. --Oska (talk) 11:20, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The speedy deletion tag had been removed, you restored it. If you didn't create the article you can remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, you don't need to contest it. ~ GB fan 11:22, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
