You do if you are a Soviet (sorry, Russian) propagandist. Army or airforce?[edit]

Is she army (ground forces) or air force? She cannot be both. And why was a helicopter pilot serving in an infantry role?Royalcourtier (talk) 22:03, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So many questions! Perhaps she's not a helicopter pilot after all? There are reports that she was not actually a pilot, and was involved in other ground-based activities. Santamoly (talk) 10:05, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As the article says, in 2014 she enrolled as a volunteer to fight in the Aidar Battalion. The Russian and Ukranian articles say that at the same time she remains a Ukrainian officer of the air force, where she took two vacations. — Ace111 (talk) 01:39, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WP:BLP violation[edit]

  • This edit was a WP:BLP violation - placing a cherry-picked suggestively negative information to paint a living person in a negative light. Reverted. My apologies - I was just observing edits mentioned above based on the claim . However, I admit that I don't have any evidence of the actual extent of her dying or imminent death, just that her courtroom outbursts indicate that maybe she's still quite healthy, not actually "dying". Allow me to emphasise that I'm only interested in probing the encyclopedic quality and accuracy of the hyperbole being published here, before actually contributing to the article, lest I step into the middle of an unexpected ideological quagmire of some kind. I beg your pardon? Are you doctor who's dealt with hunger strike patients? Have you any idea of the difference between how long, protracted famine manifests physically - which is what you're no doubt thinking of - and that of sudden cessation of food intake? Please don't make paltry observations based on an ignorance of the two processes. Appearances can be deceiving. I certainly remember the many Irish hunger strikers, lucid interviews given, and the photos of them shortly before they died... they looked remarkably well nourished while their bodies were feeding off muscle tissue and their vital organs went into shut down. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 23:09, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, her latest hunger strike caused a significant international reaction. For someone familiar with Russian politics this is actually an omnious sign. @Acorn897: Given your editing history(?), I find myself wondering what your involvement here is. We've both gone OTT as to going off topic, but in response to an equally soapy (but, nonetheless, AGF) comment by another user. I'm relieved to report that Miss Savchenko appears to be OK after so much concern was expressed over her apparent imminent death. On March 3, she went on a dry hunger strike in protest of verdict delays. United Nations Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric reported that her lawyer, Mark Feigin, said on March 10 (7 days later) she began to take meals again.[1] Therefore, it's possible that she's no longer "dying right now in prison", and contributors need not be so alarmed for her present state of health. So, assuming that Savchenko eventually grows old and dies of natural causes (as we all do sooner or later), we'll one day be able to say that she died "after a hunger strike"? So some here are technically correct that, indeed, she is actually "dying right now in prison". 10 months later, we can see that Miss Savchenko is once again venturing about the countryside in obviously fine health, and few are worried any more about her imminent demise. I have removed a reference to Info Resist since this is a propaganda outlet and not in any way a reliable source. The reference merely doubled other references confirming the same statement.
