Importance[edit]

Came 5th in World Chess Championship 1963. Many below are high, hence making Miroslav Filip mid. SunCreator (talk) 15:21, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't get it. It seems he came 9th, not 5th ? He was below Petrossian, Botvinnik, Keres, Geller, Fischer, Korchnoi, Benko and Tal ? SyG (talk) 08:42, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
He was fifth in the Interzonal which lead to the Candidates Tournament. He was last in the Candidates Tournament, tying with Tal in number of points, and Tal had played only 21 of the 28 rounds. Bubba73 (talk), 15:27, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that the importance was changed from Mid to Low. I think it should be Mid. (1) he made it to the Candidates Tournament twice, (2) he was champion of Czechoslovakia three times, and (3) he was a Grandmaster when there were only 49 people in the world with the official title. Image request[edit]

It would be nice to get a non-copyright image posted. Green Squares (talk) 15:44, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since both players are dead, this one can be used under "fair use". But there should be better ones available. Bubba73 (talk), 16:01, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The person who took the photo controls the copyright. Green Squares (talk) 21:07, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There is more leeway if the subject is dead or it is a historical photo. Then you can claim "fair use", see Wikipedia:Non-free content. Bubba73 (talk), 22:57, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
