There is a contradiction in this article.

The citation for "there is no such book in the Talmud" dates from 1970, but the article then proceeds to say something to the effect of "the earliest mention of the quotes are from 1979" (I paraphrase here).

Why is that? It seems that it isn't possible. 71.126.233.146 (talk) 02:01, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

I've seen this book quoted in many an anti-Semitic copy-paste of alleged Talmud quotes, but I can't say that it meets any of the criteria for notability.

The book has been the subject of two or more non-trivial published works appearing in sources that are independent of the book itself. This includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, other books, television documentaries, bestseller lists, and reviews. This excludes media re-prints of press releases, flap copy, or other publications where the author, its publisher, agent, or other self-interested parties advertise or speak about the book.

Maybe? None of the references are from well known published works.

The book has won a major literary award.

No. The book doesn't exist.

The book has been considered by reliable sources to have made a significant contribution to a notable or significant motion picture, or other art form, or event or political or religious movement.

No again.

The book is, or has been, the subject of instruction at two or more schools, colleges, universities or post-graduate programs in any particular country.

Highly doubtful.

The book's author is so historically significant that any of the author's written works may be considered notable. This does not simply mean that the book's author is notable by Wikipedia's standards; rather, the book's author is of exceptional significance and the author's life and body of written work would be a common subject of academic study.

No.

In my opinion, this article should be deleted. Yserbius (talk) 16:18, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Merger Proposal[edit]

I propose that Libbre David be merged into Talmud#Criticism. This is an article about a non-existent book that's often quoted in an anti-Semitic as being part of the Talmud. It has no notability, but enough that I'm not sure deletion is the correct approach. Yserbius (talk) 17:07, 11 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No one commented, so I will go ahead and merge. I have a strong feeling that the merged information will be deleted from Talmud#Criticism so it's essentially being deleted without all the hubub about notability. Yserbius (talk) 15:50, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I was on a wikibreak at the time, so I didn't see this, but thanks for merging instead of deleting outright.--Auric talk 02:12, 6 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
