Overlapping and numbering and duration[edit]
Article needs explanation on numbering order (why is 13th edition before 14th, 16th before 17th... and not the other way around) because to an ordinary reader (like myself) this can look like a mistake. In any case it's weird and makes it an incomplete information.
Also what happens when Olympiads overlap? Are there any conditions? For example, can nations enter the same teams that are already competing (if they are still in the competition after the team registration deadline for the next Olympiad)?
Why some Olympiads last 3 years and some almost three times as much (8 years)? What are the reasons? Is excess duration of current Olympiad reason for the next one or two Olympiads to overlap? 213.149.61.126 (talk) 05:43, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
