islamic terrorism?[edit]

cody's was a victim of terrorism due to displaying the satanic verses...isn't this islamic terrorism? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.112.10.248 (talk) 05:24, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Strictly speaking, we have no proof this was terrorism, given that no-one was caught (or took responsibility). While it could well have been due to the fatwa, other possibilities include a racially motivated attack or opportunistic juvenile vandalism. Without an arrest or a statement, we will likely never know, and as such cannot categorize it. --Ckatzchatspy 05:40, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
By that logic 9-11 could have been a juvenile prank too. We have plenty of sources saying it was terrorism, Ckatz. 71.112.10.248 (talk) 16:47, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No,that's not correct at all - and where, exactly, are these sources? The article doesn't support the category, and the linked articles don't identify it as "Islamic terrorism". I also searched the incident last night, and found numerous news aricles that also indicated no certainty as to the source. --Ckatzchatspy 17:52, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Revisions[edit]

User:Ekmz I asked at the Tea House and apparently we should discuss our differences on this page. I have added information under the History section of Cody's Books in my own words and cited correctly and there is no copy and paste involved and no direct quotes so I do not understand why you keep removing my text. Can we discuss? Balance person (talk) Balance person (talk) 20:01, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I mistakenly thought that the "Cody's served as a first-aid station […] when anti-war protesters were tear gassed and clubbed just outside its Telegraph Avenue doors […]" was your addition, but I now realize it was already there. It stood out more after you moved it to its own line.
That part should definitely still be edited; either rephrased so it's not a direct quote, or updated to include attribution within the article, ensuring the author is clear. Ekmz (talk) 21:59, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! Apology accepted. I agree that the part you found about the tear gas etc looks a bit weird but I know nothing about it so have not touched that part. If you have access to good source information, why not go ahead and edit it yourself and cite your sources? Balance person (talk) 07:19, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
