Suggestions[edit]

So the last Olympiad mentioned here is 2006. They happen every two years. This is sort of embarrassing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:9001:1F06:2300:49B4:BB26:B3EE:BA85 (talk) 22:05, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please make suggestions here to help improve the article instead of needlessly tagging it. Gollenaiven (talk) 14:52, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:IINFO Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. The endless tables in this article are excessive. Mayalld (talk) 14:55, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
None of the articles are excessive. It's better here if you set out exactly what you what changed. Gollenaiven (talk) 14:58, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In your opinion they are not excessive. In mine they are excessive. In such cases the accepted convention is that I tag the article to express my concern, and we leave it to other editors to decide who is right. If I am wrong, other editors will remove the tags.
You need to keep in mind that you do not own this article Mayalld (talk) 15:04, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What exactly is your concern? I think it is illegimately tagged. If others want to raise issues then they would raise it on the talk page here, which makes more sense than tagging first then discussing later. Also I know I don't own this article. Gollenaiven (talk) 15:20, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
My concern is that you are repeatedly removing tags. It seems that you are unable to see that it is highly inappropriate to remove tags that express concerns about YOUR writing. My views may be right, or they may be wrong, but it is not for you to decide. Mayalld (talk) 15:26, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think this article is ok; the tables are relatively long, but have some encyclopedic value. Perhaps the Overall Team vs Team statistics could be removed as they don't tell very much. I do however object against articles like China at the 32nd Chess Olympiad (which have now been merged into China national chess team results), since they are far too detailed and better summarized in one article. That is also why I think it is important to keep this page, as summary of China's Olympic record in chess. Voorlandt (talk) 15:48, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I tried to be bold, so I redirected those yearly articles into the main article, but User:Mayalld still wants those redirects deleted. I don't understand why. I feel like I am being harrassed. Gollenaiven (talk) 15:59, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That was not intended. The revert was done with WP:TW, which would appear to have had problems in this revert Mayalld (talk) 15:01, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It is apparently a known (if infrequent) bug in TW - see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts/Twinkle/Bugs#TW-B-0013 Mayalld (talk) 15:11, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I would have added the unwarranted deletions back in myself after making that mistake. Gollenaiven (talk) 15:40, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
