"The Game of GO, the National Game of Japan" was first published in New York, April 1908, by
"Arthur Smith". The Publisher's (Moffat, Yard & Company) Note (1956) mentions that the author
"was one of the first Westerners ever to make a scientific study of Japan's ancient game of Go and
that his classic work on the subject has never been surpassed for completeness, lucidity ,
and all-round excellence."

I doubt it. Arthur Henderson Smith spent his career in China, not Japan. Smallchief 16:13, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
