Why is it necessary to state to the day the age of the airframe? I thought the point being made was that it was over 30 years old. As it stands, the sentence is incorrect as the age given is the span of the aircraft's flying career not the age of the airframe. DrKiernan (talk) 14:20, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Technically, the age of the airframe is counted starting with the maiden flight, thus the flying carrer coincides with that age. The use of the template you're removing shows exactly that age, so why not using it? Separately, I suggested you to raise the matter at WT:AIRLINE, not here, because you are modifying other articles too.--JetstreamerTalk 14:32, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Because the exact age to the day is trivial: the important fact is that it was over 30 years old. DrKiernan (talk) 14:49, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The age of the plane doesn't have to be precise down to the exact day. When someone says how old they are, they don't say "I am 25 years, 3 months, and 21 days old" they just say "I'm 25 years old." Same goes for when one refers to the age of something they own, like their car, computer, or TV. —Compdude123 21:00, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
