Hello everyone, I am kicking off this discussion to solicit input on how best to get this article accepted.  Biographies of Living Persons have high standards on notability.
 Establishing notability for a musician is here:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:MUSIC  Here is what I've done to establish Matt's notability:

He has co-written, with his wife Laurel, two songs that are on an album (Panic Of Girls) that has charted in another country.

He is a member of a group that has at least two notable musicians. Blondie currently has three: Clem Burke, Deborah Harry, and Chris Stein.

He is a member of a band that tours regularly internationally. Blondie has had international tours ever since Matt joined in 2008. I have listed them all.

I am working on obtaining more interviews from reliable sources. I think I've gathered all the low-hanging fruit, but if anyone reading this can find additional valid sources (imdb, iTunes, etc. aren't deemed reliable) I would appreciate it.

A somewhat longer documentation of Matt's notability

Of the criteria established here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(music)

A musician or ensemble (note that this includes a band, singer, rapper, orchestra, DJ, musical theatre group, instrumentalist, etc.) may be notable if it meets at least one of the following criteria: 1.Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent from the musician or ensemble itself.[note 1] This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, magazine articles, online versions of print media, and television documentaries[note 2] except for the following: Any reprints of press releases, other publications where the musician or ensemble talks about themselves, and all advertising that mentions the musician or ensemble, including manufacturers' advertising.[note 3] Works consisting merely of trivial coverage, such as articles that simply report performance dates, release information or track listings, or the publications of contact and booking details in directories. Articles in a school or university newspaper (or similar), in most cases.

References 2,4,5,11,&12 fulfill this requirement.

2.Has had a single or album on any country's national music chart.[note 4]

3.Has had a record certified gold or higher in at least one country.

4.Has received non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country.[note 5]

5.Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years, and with a roster of performers, many of whom are notable).

The label Eleven Seven Music has several notable groups on its current roster besides Blondie. They are Mötley Crüe and Papa Roach.

6.Is an ensemble which contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a reasonably-prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles.[note 6] This should be adapted appropriately for musical genre; for example, having performed two lead roles at major opera houses.

This criteria is fulfilled, as Clem Burke, Debbie Harry, and Chris Stein are in the same band as Matt and all are notable.

7.Has become one of the most prominent representatives of a notable style or the most prominent of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability.

8.Has won or been nominated for a major music award, such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury, Choice or Grammis award.

9.Has won or placed in a major music competition.

10.Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g., a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album, etc. (But if this is the only claim, it is probably more appropriate to have a mention in the main article and redirect to that article. Read WP:BLP1E and WP:BIO1E for further clarifications)

11.Has been placed in rotation nationally by a major radio or music television network.

 Matt and his wife Laurel cowrote "What I Heard" , which was in prime rotation on BBC Radio 2 in 2011. (Ref. 8).  On the second day of it's release, Blondie 4(0) Ever, which includes Ghosts Of Download, was number 12 on the album charts in the UK.

12.Has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or TV network.

 Blondie was on the Dave Clark's New Years" Rockin Eve broadcast on Dec. 31st. 2013.  Matt was featured on both keyboards and keytar.

Second opinion on Matt Katz-Bohen's notability

Greetings. I am an archivist of Blondie information and would like to comment on this draft. It seems there is some question about Matt Katz-Bohen's notability. I'd like to cite WP:N which states that notability may be established by verifiable and reliable secondary independent sources from WP:BAND and more than one of those is clearly applicable.

Mr. Katz-Bohen's notability is not temporary. He has been a recognized, credited member of Blondie since 2008 (with a career before then), recorded two studio albums with Blondie and performed as the sole keyboardist on their U.S. and international tours each and every year since then. The notability is clearly established by not just one, but multiple criteria as an instrumentalist in "Criteria for musicians and ensembles" in the article WP:BAND including "Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent from the musician or ensemble itself" and "Is an ensemble which contains two or more independently notable musicians" (namely, Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, and Clem Burke).

I argue against reviewer [[1]]'s decline of submission based on the comment, "No extensive coverage in independent nor reliable sources, therefore non-notable." My interpretation of this comment is the article was declined because the reviewer believes the subject is non-notable. This does not follow from what I have presented in the previous paragraph. Extensive coverage is not needed to establish notability.

The reviewer adds, "References provided are inadequate, even though he might be notable." In WP:N, it explicitly states "Article content does not determine notability". Notability is established from my points in the previous paragraphs. The references that are used in this article are, for the most part, independent and verifiable. I agree that some statements need to be substantiated with "citation needed". I do not agree that inadequate references conclude non-notability. I also disagree that the BBC website, Interview magazine, Keyboard magazine, and the Village Voice are not reliable, independent secondary sources.

This draft article is not a stub, but it can be improved and needs contributions from the Blondie band fan base that will not happen if it is not accepted and published. All of the requirements for acceptance have been met. Notability is established, reliable sources per WP:RS is established.

I assert that this article meets the requirements for subject notability and contains sufficient independent, reliable, verifiable secondary sources for acceptance. I request acceptance of this article.Xblkx (talk) 06:24, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

Interesting that this talk page somehow becomes orphaned when I accept the article in question. Anyway, thank you for your hard work in documenting and discussing and advocating all this. Based on an undertaking I made in an earlier comment on the draft, I have now accepted the submission in order to make it an article. There are still some issues with it, but I think you or others can resolve those issues. If someone takes the article to Articles for Deletion, then you may need to link them to your comments and sources here on this page too. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 18:17, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
