"Based on" credit[edit]

Hello @HM2021: Do you have reliable sources to support this addition? It appears that this movie will focus on new characters, and I haven't found anything confirming that Crichton will be credited.  AJFU  (talk) 17:30, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

At this stage, it's not possible for there to be sources for this, so we should just follow what the previous film does. It uses "Characters by by Michael Crichton". InfiniteNexus (talk) 23:42, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think we should have an unverifiable credit listed here merely on the basis of what the last film did. Dominion and others used that credit because they featured characters he created, but we don't know that that's the case here. I personally don't doubt that he'll be credited in some way. Maybe it will feature characters created by him. Or perhaps the "Based on" credit will go to his first Jurassic Park novel, or the second, or both. Wouldn't it be better to leave Crichton out for now, rather than make assumptions about whether and how he'll be credited? We can easily add the credit back in the infobox once there's confirmation.  AJFU  (talk) 15:36, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

The name Jurassic City has only been used in a couple issues of Production Weekly (Feb. 22, Feb. 29). Otherwise, placeholder titles have been listed. Jurassic World 4 was used in issues between January 25 - April 25. Since May 2, they've been listing it as simply Jurassic Park. Is it possible that Jurassic City was removed because it turned out to be wrong? Has Production Weekly made mistakes before? FilmStories.co.uk also used the name Jurassic City ([1]), but noted that it's an unconfirmed rumor.

Jurassic World 4, although an unofficial title, does at least seem to be a common name among sources. My searches for Jurassic City, on the other hand, mostly bring up results for an unrelated 2015 movie. If filming starts without a confirmed title, I assume we would want to avoid using an obscure name that originated from a potentially inaccurate production listing. Would there be any issue in publishing the draft at Jurassic World 4? The Fallen Kingdom article also listed temporary titles until a name was confirmed, so I assume that would be acceptable here, and it's more concise than something like Untitled Jurassic World film. We can specify in the opening sentence Jurassic World 4 is the unofficial title[1] for an upcoming American science fiction action film...

Hopefully, there will be a title reveal as filming begins, but I thought it might be good to bring this up and suggest an alternate name ahead of time, just in case.  AJFU  (talk) 17:22, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
