Mar Sebastian (Jobby) Pozholiparampil was born on September 1, 1957, in Pullur, within the diocese of Irinjalakuda in Kerala, India. He began his journey towards priesthood by enrolling at St. Mary's Minor Seminary in Trichur. He is the Bishop of Hosur diocese.[1]

Early life and priesthood[edit]

Mar Sebastian (Jobby) Pozholiparampil was born on September 1, 1957,[2] in Pullur within the Diocese of Irinjalakuda, underwent his early education before entering St. Mary's Minor Seminary, Trichur. His theological and philosophical studies took place at St. Thomas Apostolic Seminary, Vadavathoor, leading to his ordination as a priest on December 22, 1982. Holding a Licentiate in Theology from the Angelicum, Rome. He has served the Eparchy in various capacities, including Assistant Parish Priest at Aloor and Parish Priest at several locations such as Kaipamangalam, East Chendrappini, and Cheelor, among others. He has also held positions as Rector of the Spirituality Centre, Eparchial Finance Officer, Vice Rector of the Minor Seminary, Director of Santisadanam, Director of Legion of Mary, and Secretary of the Presbyteral Council. He was also a Coordinator of Chennai Mission.[3]

Bishop of Hosur[edit]

Mar Sebastian Pozholiparampil was appointed its first bishop. His Episcopal ordination took place on The cathedral is St. Antony's Syro-Malabar Catholic Cathedral Church at Noothenchery and the bishop's chancellory is at St. Thomas Pastoral Centre Ayanavaram.[4]
