List of efforts to address this category by date[edit]
2007-07-11 Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Singapore companies - The result was Keep - despite earlier warnings that I shouldn't explain my evaluation of the consensus, here it seems pretty clear. One unexplained comment to delete, and although it's suggested categories are better than lists, the general feeling seems to be that lists are useful in their own right. Redirection is mentioned, and can always be discussed as an editorial decision, but doesn't seem to have much support.
Several of these lists have been put on proposed deletion or AfD. Is this category and its lists worth having?--T. Anthony 07:14, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think it is. What it lacks at the moment is someone maintaining it. I'll see what I can do. Paxse 15:54, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Paxse. I'm not supporting the need for categories (have no personal experience with them), but find lists easy to maintain and easy to navigate, especially when divided into industry topics and rid of redlink insertion spam. -LeyteWolfer 05:44, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For many lists we have double entries: in the main category and in the subcategorie with *, so that - for example List of companies of Iran. This is not necessary I think. --House1630 (talk) 19:41, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
