Graphics Lab/Photography workshop

The Graphics Lab is a project to improve the graphical content of the Wikimedia projects. Requests for image improvements can be added to the workshop pages: Illustrations, Photographs and Maps. For questions or suggestions one can use the talk pages: Talk:Graphics Lab, Talk:Illustrations, Talk:Photographs and Talk:Maps.
This specific page is the requests page for the photography workshop. Anyone can make a request for a photograph to be improved for a Wikipedia article. The standard format for making a request is shown below, along with general advice, and should be followed.

Advice to requesters

All requests: Please make sure your request is "legitimate" by copyright. If the image(s) are in the public domain or freely licensed, you are fine. If the image(s) are "Fair use", there are only certain things we can do with them without falling afoul of Wikipedia's fair-use policies. If you are requesting assistance with a copyright or fair-use image, don't display it on this page; place {{GLNF|Example.png|caption|align=left}} to create a link to it. Do not add the File: extension. Our fair-use policy does not allow displaying fair-use images out of their articles on ANY account. Please check back regularly to see if progress has been made or if any additional questions need to be answered before the request can be completed. If a request is done to your satisfaction, please mark it with {{resolved}}. SVG requests: Make sure your request can actually BE vectorized. Note that vector drawings are not suitable for certain applications. We generally use SVG format for icons, logos, drawings, maps, flags, and such. Certain things, photographs especially, are totally impossible to vectorize. Per our non-free content policy, vectorization of copyrighted images is not permitted. If a vectorized non-free image is desired, seek out such an image from the copyright holder.

So, this is a 480p photo of some discontinued McDonald's sides from an old TV commercial (80s copyright formalities PD). The thing is, it might be a third or fourth generation copy, and the colors are really ruined, maybe a little misaligned too. I was wondering if anyone knew how to color correct it, or what other work could be done that would make it more legible and useful. Non-free photos of the packaging, which could be useful references, exist in higher quality (like in this listing). Thanks for taking a look! -- 3df (talk) 16:42, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

Delete extra text from crop of map

El Segundo sand dunes 1918 "heavy sand impassable"

Is it possible to clear that box [IFORNIA GELES CAL. (etc)] out of the top left corner? This is a useful map for explaining the historic ecology of a sand-dune ecosystem specific to this part of our coast. TY jengod (talk) 22:58, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
