KEEP! It is a beautiful photo of a family sitting together.

Has this been colourised?bob bobato (talk) 18:43, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When I hover over this image it says "A young boy possibly in his early teens, a younger girl (about 5), a grown woman and an elderly man, sit on a lawn." Wtf?! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.145.85.3 (talk) 20:56, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Enhanced version of this image available[edit]

I don't think that this was a colorized image because when enlarged one sees color details that are not consistent with the all-over tinting that is used on top of an area when colorizing. Check the graduated difference between the left portion (warmer) and the right portion (cooler) of the hem pattern on Dunham's dress. Also notice the different tints of the sunglasses and particularly that the blue of Dunham's father's eyes appears to show through the brown of the lenses. Rather the odd color of this photo appears to be due to the fading of a color print over the years before it was scanned.

I have uploaded an enhanced version of this file in which I enlarged it, reduced noise and resaturated the color. I did not want to replace the original file with the enhanced version without consensus so I uploaded it as (click on image for page):

Perhaps those editing the pages where this image is used may want to change to the enhanced version. Those pages are now:

Barack Obama, Madelyn and Stanley Dunham, and Family of Barack Obama
