Description:
In 1876 the Dutch navy started to found bronze breechloaders at Rijkswerf Amsterdam. These were finished at Koninklijke Fabriek. Types were 12 cm, 7.5 cm and 3.7 cm. In appearance the gun resembles the 12 cm breechloader.

Photograph possibly made on account of the visit of a Japanese delegation to the factory in June 1862. (This is not correct, because the photo depicts a breechloader)

Een 'kanon op affuit' in de werkplaats van de Koninklijke Fabriek van Stoom- en andere Werktuigen te Amsterdam, het latere Werkspoor.
Beschrijving:
In 1876 begon de marine bronzen achterladers te gieten bij de Rijkswerf Amsterdam omdat de Rijks geschutgieterij te druk was voor de landmacht. In Amsterdam werden stukken van 12, 7,5 en 3,7 cm aangegoten. Deze werden bij de Koninklijke Fabriek afgewerkt. het kanon lijkt het meest op de 12 cm achterlader.

Foto vermoedelijk gemaakt naar aanleiding van het bezoek van een Japans gezantschap aan de fabriek in juni 1862. Zie: A. van Veen, Pieter Oosterhuis (1816-1885), Amsterdam 1993, p. 116, App. II-1 t/m 12 (Niet correct, want de foto laat een achterlader zien, die had Nederland in 1862 niet)
