Claudius riding in triumphal quadriga right, holding reins and scepter; DE BRITANNIS in exergue.
RPC 3625; Sydenham, Caesarea 55; RIC I 122.
Near EF, toned. Rare.
The didrachm was introduced during the reign of Claudius. The reverse type portrays a powerful piece of political propaganda; namely, Claudius returning triumphantly from Britain.
