This media file has been nominated for deletion since 6 April 2024. To discuss it, please visit the nomination page.
Do not remove this tag until the deletion nomination is closed. Reason for the nomination: The file is an image hosted on the website of 176th Air Control Squadron. Its EXIF documentation stated that it is photographed by Mark Farmer and provides a dead link to his personal website. According to his archived resume there, at 2005-05-09, he was a freelance photographer instead of an US Federal Government employee.
As only works of US Federal Government employees made for official duties are in U.S. public domain, it is likely that Mark Farmer still holds the copyright for his works. Unless we can reach out to him to obtain an explicit free license, the file is copyrightable and likely to be unfree.

Summary
Description176thAirControlSqdnRadar.jpg |
English: U.S. Air Force Alaska Air National Guard Staff. Sgt. Mike Reyor keeps a close eye on aircraft flying in southwestern Alaska from his console in the underground Regional Air Operations Center (RAOC) at Elmendorf AFB on 9 May 2005. The RAOC is run by the Alaska Air Guard's 176th Air Control Squadron (ACS) which took over control of the RAOC in 2004. The RAOC keeps track of over 30,000 flights per month that use Alaskan airspace. The RAOC is part of the Alaskan NORAD Region and includes active U.S. Air Force and Royal Canadian Air Force personnel in addition to the approximately 150 Alaska Air Guard personnel that make up the 176th ACS. Target information from 19 remote radar sites and E-3 AWACS is fed into the RAOC and intercept orders are sent from the command post to the Combat Alert Cell on Elmendorf where 12th and 19th Fighter Squadron pilots and their F-15C Eagles wait for the word. |
