English: "Portrait of Saint Jerome as the Representation of Melancholy" by Farrukh Beg (borders attributed to Ustad Mansur). Folio from a royal album of Shah Jahan. This miniature is based on a print by the Flemish printmaker Marten de Vos (1532-1603 CE) of ‘Dolor’ (Sadness), which in turn was based on a depiction of St. Jerome by Albrecht Dürer. India, 1615.
